Yoshimori Tomioka
Contemporary Artist
Yoshimori Tomioka (b. 1999, Kanagawa, Japan) is a contemporary artist based in Tokyo, working across painting, photography and writing.
In painting, he explores the theme of “human and machine” through dense pen drawings in fine ink and gold. The accumulation of countless lines and the light-shifting quality of gold do not merely illustrate the subject; they implement the idea itself as material. In photography, he pursues “continuity” — the latent order running through matter, time and the artificial forms of the city.
Selected solo exhibitions: “Hayaku Ningen ni Naritai” (2022, Boji Gallery, Tokyo); “Sonzai no Nōtan” and “Tokete Hikatte” (2024, DESIGN FESTA GALLERY, Tokyo); and “RESONANCE” (December 2026, DESIGN FESTA GALLERY EAST 203, Tokyo).
