Solo Exhibition 〈 RESONANCE — Interference and Continuity 〉

Where is the boundary between human and machine?

Yoshimori Tomioka keeps asking this question through two different means: painting and photography. The question can also be called a question of continuity. The countless lines drawn on Kent paper overlap to produce moiré. Gold changes its expression with the angle of view. The act of photographing cuts a single instant from time that flows without pause. Each of these is an attempt to make visible the structure of the order that runs through this world, by bringing it to light or by cutting it.

The 2022 solo exhibition 〈 I Want to Become Human Soon! 〉 took “opposition” between human and machine as its theme, and the 2024 solo exhibitions 〈 Shades of Existence 〉 / 〈 Melting and Shining 〉 took their “dissolution.” This exhibition, 〈 RESONANCE — Interference and Continuity 〉, grasps the two as beings that resonate with each other, and takes “resonance” as its theme.

The exhibition runs for three days from 11 December 2026. Works and art books can be purchased at the venue. Please come and see the original works in person.
